Bad Hotel App Reviews

cool

Nice Idea...

...terrible realisation. Bad UI, unbalanced gameplay, horrible sounds. Sorry. :(

Nice dynamic

The game would be better if the action stop when we drag a room. Its a good deal for a dollar but Ive played better games for the same price.

music?

nice idea. but the generated sound doesnt sound very "musical". restriction to fitting scales (pentatonic?) and implementation of basic sequencer techniques and rythmical grids could help here and improve things a lot. the way it is atm is just too random and quickly becomes annoying without supporting the overall experience.

Puzzles and beats = fun

Its a very fun mix of puzzler and rhythm game (though the rhythms are relatively passive). Best played with headphones, the sound and aesthetics are TOP NOTCH. Mechanics are solid, and the dialogue is cheeky and entertaining. Definitely worth the cost of entry!

Great original idea with one fatal flaw

This is a beautiful, original game with some neat gameplay concepts mashed together. It also has an interesting procedurally-generated soundtrack. However, its clear the developers didnt do any proper beta or quality testing - the difficulty curve is way out of whack. There is no tutorial explaining the enemy types or building strategies. The first few levels are easy enough, but pretty soon the game becomes frustratingly hard. Hard enough that I pretty much just quit after playing 7 or 8 levels. Reading the forums, sounds like Im not alone. The developers look like they wont be doing any difficulty tweaking so sadly this game will never become more than a passing fad for now.

It does not work

It does not work on my device.

This game is trash

These idiots can grasp app making at all

Meh

Its okay to play for 30 mins at the most

Pointlessly hard.

So restrictive its actually tedious. The point seems to make cool music with the building blocks. But the building blocks are expensive and the money gains are so slow. So the blocks never really build anything cool, and before you can the bad guys break it anyway. Its not "tough", its tedious and repetitive.

Just Garbage

I got this app as part of a bundle. The whole bundle with the exception of one app is garbage. This is one of the garbage apps.

Unplayable

Awful block placement system makes the game unplayable, even the slightest move of a finger can ruin all plans.

The Perfect Casual Game

There are plenty of music generation apps available for iOS, and they all share the same problem: they get boring quickly. Sure, you can make some pretty cool beats, but it only happens when you get lucky. The rest of the time is wasted. Bad Hotel provides you with a goal to accomplish while you generate music. It doesnt always sound great, by thats okay because you have a great tower defense game to play while youre waiting. The story is innovative (the antagonist both funds and destroys your hotels), and the combination of two app genres makes Bad Hotel the perfect casual game. My only complaint has been mentioned by others: the controls arent fantastic. Sometimes, when I go to place a room next to the main hotel, it ends up far away in the dirt. However, that hasnt prevented me from thoroughly enjoying this game.

Great game terrible control

Its seems like a lot of effort went into this game but its incredibly frustrating to place rooms- its drag and drop but they dont go where you drag- they slide around wildly and most of the time you cant see them because theyre under your finger. It leads to a bad gaming experience because you feel like you have no control. I wonder why they didnt just use a grid system...

awesome

it so refreshing to see beautiful graphics and a fun game. only complaint: i hate that i cant drag rooms up and i have to go around the hotel not over. so very annoying. everything else is perfect

Bad Hotel is really Good

Great fun and can make good music as well. Pak Man has met Bach

Good with technical flaws

I bought this game because of a glowing preview on kotaku, but overall Im not impressed. The dynamic music system or whatever is nothing more than rhythmic pulses that dont exactly serenade. The biggest problem with the game is accuracy; placement of units is crucial in a tower defense game but this game has incredibly frustrating drag and drop accuracy problems. If I didnt feel like the game was working against me it might be really enjoyable.

Doesnt work on my phone

I snagged this app after reading the Kotaku review. Was excited to try it but it doesnt work on my iPhone 3GS. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix coming soon?

Horrible on IPad

This game totally s ucks... Cant think of one good thing to say about it...waste of money... Huge control issues...besides boring..

Great game

There could be a grid system but because of the control scheme I just took it as a challenge instead of bothering the developer and complaining like a child. The game is great. When you place a room every room has a different sound and together the rooms make a peaceful pulse while youre frantically rushing making split second decisions on what to do next. It really is a strategy game and deserves better reviews. One flaw doesnt make it a one or three star game. If you rate it appropriately, and ask politely, the developer will feel better about making or changing the controls in the update. Keep doing a good job lucky frame, dont let people stop you from what you do best, combine music, gameplay, and a fun storyline together to make a wonderful experience for the customer. P.S. -!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
