This is a beautiful, original game with some neat gameplay concepts mashed together. It also has an interesting procedurally-generated soundtrack.
However, its clear the developers didnt do any proper beta or quality testing - the difficulty curve is way out of whack. There is no tutorial explaining the enemy types or building strategies.
The first few levels are easy enough, but pretty soon the game becomes frustratingly hard. Hard enough that I pretty much just quit after playing 7 or 8 levels.
Reading the forums, sounds like Im not alone. The developers look like they wont be doing any difficulty tweaking so sadly this game will never become more than a passing fad for now.
